Biographical sketches of Knud Chrestensen Nelson and Karen Margrette Chrestenen, after 1873.

Copy of two biographies written by Margaret N. Hogan on Danish Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints converts Knud Chrestensen Nelson and Karen Margrette Chrestensen. The first is a two-page biography of Knud Nelson (b.1793 in Oppelstrup, Denmark), focusing on his conversion from the Lutheran to Baptist Church, and his final conversion to Mormonism in 1851. It also describes his marriage to Karen Chrestensen and their eleven children, seven of whom accompanied their parents to the United States in 1852, arriving in Salt Lake City in September 1853. In 1854 the family moved to Bountiful, Utah, where Nelson died in 1862. The biography includes references to the ship Forest Monarch, which the family took from Liverpool to New Orelans, and the influence of George P. Dykes and Erastus Snow on the Nelsons' conversion. The second biography is a single page about Karen Margrette Chrestensen and is largely repititious of Nelson's biography, with a few minor details about Chrestensen's childhood and home life added.

Facsimile of typescript, 3 pages.
